From One Apple Pie to a Southern Tradition

Every pie has a story, and so does Pies by Angela.

My journey began years ago when a friend from church invited me to go apple picking. After spending the day gathering more apples than we knew what to do with, she suggested we turn them into something special. Standing together in her kitchen, she showed me how to make my very first apple pie. What started as a simple afternoon of fellowship and friendship became the beginning of a lifelong passion for baking.

Years later, my husband and I moved to South Carolina. Wanting to share a favorite family recipe, I baked a sweet potato pie. It was different from the sweet potato pies my husband, who was born and raised in South Carolina, had grown up enjoying. Yet from the very first bite, he loved its unique flavor, creamy texture, and rich homemade taste. It quickly became a family favorite.

As time passed, I began baking pies for family gatherings, church events, holidays, and special occasions. Before long, family and friends were asking if they could enjoy those same pies at their own tables. What began with one apple pie and a treasured sweet potato pie recipe grew into a collection of Southern favorites made with care, quality ingredients, and a commitment to creating something truly special.

Today, Pies by Angela proudly offers handcrafted Southern pies and candied pecans inspired by tradition, hospitality, and the joy of sharing good food with the people you love. Every recipe is thoughtfully prepared to deliver exceptional flavor and memorable moments worth savoring.

My prayer is that each pie and every bag of candied pecans brings family and friends together, sparks conversation, creates lasting memories, and adds something special to every gathering.

Thank you for allowing me to share a taste of my family's traditions with yours.
